Yes, indeed. Those of us who are Spartacus: Gods of the Arena fans will now have to wait until January 2012 for season 3 to start Spartacus!
One reason for the long hiatus is that the title character, Spartacus, who was played by Andy Whitfield was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma and ended up leaving the show after season one final recording.Starz did not even know if there would be another season. While trying to understand if season 2 was going to happen, he decided to tape Spartacus: Gods of the Arena, which do not contain the Spartacus.
Meanwhile, a new Spartacus, the actor Liam McIntyre was elected and take the sword instead of Whitfield.
Creator Steven S. DeKnight told Entertainment Weekly that the scope of Season 3 is "far greater than anything we've done before - and some most beloved characters could suffer the fate of Batiatus.
Spartacus: Gods of the Arena will probably hit the DVD stores in September, just months before the season 3 will air. Until then, Starz is to keep our attention new Camelot series that starts in April ... but can be an hour ahead from here.
