As a resident of England who emigrated to Canada with my family at age seven, I eagerly embraced the new tradition of Halloween: dressing up, bobbing for apples, and best of all, going from door to door with a big demolition begging for candy . But coming to Canada from Great Britain meant leaving behind another holiday tradition that some Canadians may have heard, but most likely not Guy Fawkes Day.
